Omaha Poker
Omaha is a relatively recent and widely popular offspring
of Holdem, which spread after reaching Las Vegas in
the early 1980s.
The fact that it has more action and requires a less
conservative starting strategy then Holdem makes it
particularly well suited to home games.
It is widely thought that Omaha is a far better game
for those who play Poker recreationally rather than
to make money by preying on less skilful players. While
chance plays a significant role in the making or breaking
of hands on the turn or on the river, the game both
requires and rewards card-reading skills.
