Omaha Poker - What makes strong
holdings?
The elements of a holding that leads to particular
types of winning hands are easily identified. A holding
that can become a winner of several different kinds
is especially valuable.
Strong holdings are those that have multiple chances
to lead to a winning full house, flush, or straight.
The larger the number and strength of the couples that
are present in a holding, and the more they compliment
one another, the better the holding before the flop.
Even relatively unpromising couples can provide important
alternative winning combinations (outs) if the apparent
strength of a holding fails to produce a winner. For
instance, holding a suited J,4, along with a pair of
aces, gives a long shot possibility for a high straight,
a low straight, and a jack high flush.
